First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 29, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking branched-chain amino acid supplements for 12 weeks can improve muscle thickness, strength, and nutrition in people with advanced liver cirrhosis who have fluid in the belly (ascites) and low albumin levels. About 30 participants will take the supplement twice daily and undergo measurements of muscle, body composition, and blood tests. The goal is to see if this simple nutritional approach can help manage the disease and improve quality of life.
