NCT ID NCT07447102

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This Phase II study tests a drug called BC006 in 96 adults with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a disease that causes lung scarring and breathing difficulty. The trial first checks safety in a small group, then randomly assigns patients to receive BC006 or a placebo every two weeks for 24 weeks. The main goal is to see if BC006 improves lung function (measured by FVC) and is safe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

BC006 (a drug given by IV infusion)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a new treatment to slow lung scarring and improve breathing in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

What could go wrong

This is an early Phase II trial with only 96 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may cause side effects or fail to improve lung function compared to placebo.
