New injection aims to restore swallowing in rare muscle disease

Summary

This study tests a single injection of BB-301 directly into throat muscles to improve swallowing in people with oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy (OPMD). About 30 adults aged 50-65 with swallowing problems will receive the injection during a short surgery. Researchers will check safety and measure how well the treatment reduces food sticking in the throat.
