NCT ID NCT05439629
First seen Dec 17, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested a new medicine called BAT5906 against a standard treatment (Lucentis) for wet age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss in older adults. About 488 people aged 50-85 with active disease took part. The goal was to see if BAT5906 works as well as Lucentis at improving or maintaining eyesight over one year. Both treatments are injected into the eye and aim to control the disease, not cure it.
