Basketball Stars' dominant hands show sharper timing and nerve efficiency
NCT ID NCT07253623
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested 14 elite female basketball players to see how their dominant and non-dominant hands differ in timing and nerve speed. Players performed a task where they pressed a button when a light reached a target, while sensors measured nerve signals. The dominant hand was more accurate and consistent, but also prone to bigger errors, suggesting a speed-accuracy trade-off. The findings may help coaches design training to improve both hands and reduce injury risk.
