First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This early study tests a new device that uses heat to remove abnormal cells in the esophagus of people with Barrett's esophagus, a condition that can lead to cancer. The study will include up to 20 adults, first checking safety in patients already scheduled for esophagus removal, then testing the device in patients with Barrett's and low- or high-grade dysplasia. The main goals are to see if the procedure is safe and how well it removes the abnormal tissue.
