New balloon treatment aims to keep heart arteries open
NCT ID NCT05471245
Summary
This study tested a special balloon coated with a drug (sirolimus) that is inflated inside clogged heart arteries during a procedure. The goal was to see if this balloon helps keep the artery open and prevents it from narrowing again over 9 months. Researchers followed 110 adults with coronary artery disease to measure how well the artery stayed open and track any heart-related complications.
