New weapon against tough lymphoma: re-engineered immune cells target cancer protein

NCT ID NCT05370430

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety and best dose of a new type of CAR T-cell therapy for adults with B-cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma that has come back or stopped responding to standard treatments. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells (T cells), modify them in a lab to recognize a specific protein (BAFFR) found on the cancer cells, and then infuse them back into the patient to help the immune system find and kill the cancer. The main goals are to find a safe dose and understand the side effects of this experimental treatment.
