Doctors test 'Virus vs. Bacteria' therapy for tough lung infection

NCT ID NCT07228702

Summary

This study is testing a new approach for a hard-to-treat lung infection caused by Mycobacterium abscessus. A single patient will receive a special virus (called a bacteriophage) designed to kill the bacteria, given through an IV and inhaled, along with standard antibiotics. The main goals are to see if this combination reduces the infection in the lungs and is safe for the patient.
