First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested a new rehab approach for teen athletes with spondylolysis, a stress fracture in the lower back. 64 athletes aged 10-19 were randomly assigned to start physical therapy immediately after diagnosis or wait until their pain went away. The goal was to see if starting therapy sooner improves function, pain, and quality of life, and helps them return to sports faster.
