Can baby babble training stop speech disorders before they start?
NCT ID NCT03838016
Summary
This study tested whether early speech and language coaching could prevent communication problems in babies with classic galactosemia, a genetic condition that puts them at high risk for speech disorders. Researchers worked with 285 families, providing weekly online training to parents of infants aged 2-24 months to help stimulate early communication skills. The goal was to see if this proactive approach works better than waiting until speech problems appear around age 2-3.
