Summary
This study tested two antibiotics, azithromycin and erythromycin, in 250 pregnant women whose water broke too early (between 28 and 34 weeks). The goal was to see which drug better prevents infection in the mother and improves newborn health. Participants took one of the two antibiotics for seven days, and the researchers tracked infection signs and baby outcomes at birth.
