Summary

This early-phase study tests a single injection of avoralstat into the eye for people with diabetic macular edema, a condition that causes vision loss. Nine adults with diabetes and center-involved swelling in the retina will be monitored for safety and any signs of improvement in retinal thickness and vision. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and worth studying further.
