New hope for advanced bladder cancer: maintenance drug aims to keep tumors in check
NCT ID NCT07460245
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether the drug avelumab can help keep metastatic urothelial carcinoma (a type of bladder cancer) from growing after patients have already received two lines of chemotherapy. About 144 adults whose cancer has not worsened after second-line chemo will receive avelumab as maintenance therapy. The goal is to see if this approach extends the time before the cancer progresses.
