NCT ID NCT06895759
First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether a material called soda lime can remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air when someone breathes into a snow air pocket, like during an avalanche burial. 22 healthy volunteers breathed into a simulated snow air pocket with and without the CO2 absorber. The goal was to see if removing CO2 could delay dangerous drops in oxygen and buy more time for rescue.
