Can a simple heart test reveal the hidden link between vertigo and stress?

NCT ID NCT07472998

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at how the autonomic nervous system works in people with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a common cause of dizziness. Researchers will measure heart rate variability in 104 participants (52 with BPPV and 52 healthy volunteers) to see if stress and anxiety are linked to vertigo attacks. The goal is to better understand the biological connection between stress and BPPV, which may lead to improved treatments in the future.
