Smart ventilator put to the test for brain injury care

NCT ID NCT06367816

Summary

This study tested a smart, automated ventilator mode to see if it could safely provide the right balance of breathing support for patients with acute brain injuries. Researchers compared three hours of standard care to three hours of automated care in 20 critically ill patients. The goal was to see if the automated system could better protect both the brain and lungs without causing harm.
