Robot doctor tries to sedate ICU patients

NCT ID NCT06187545

Summary

This small pilot study tested a new automated device designed to control sedation levels in critically ill patients who are on breathing machines. The device aimed to keep patients deeply sedated while using the lowest possible dose of the sedative drug propofol. Researchers compared the automated system to the usual manual method over a 12-hour period in 20 patients.
