Smart oxygen device may help lung scarring patients breathe easier while walking

NCT ID NCT06465654

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This study tested a new automatic oxygen device in 29 people with fibrotic lung disease who need extra oxygen during activity. The device automatically adjusts oxygen flow to keep oxygen levels steady, unlike the usual fixed dose. Researchers measured if this led to less breathlessness and longer walking distance during a walking test.
