Summary

This study tests whether a family support program helps Navajo parents of children with autism or developmental disabilities. About 29 parents will be randomly assigned to join the program right away or after a wait. The program is led by trained Navajo parents and teaches strategies to support children's development at home. Researchers will measure if the program is useful, increases parents' knowledge and confidence, and improves children's social communication.
