First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether a parent-led technique called 'mutual gaze' can improve social communication and daily skills in toddlers (16-30 months) showing early signs of autism. About 80 children from diverse backgrounds will receive 12 sessions of a parent training program, with or without the gaze component. Researchers will track changes in social skills, language, and adaptive behavior using eye-tracking and parent interviews.
