New approach aims to help infants at risk for autism learn language

NCT ID NCT06794476

Summary

This pilot study tested whether a new language teaching method could be easily used by parents at home. The method teaches parents to encourage their infants to look at mouth movements during speech. Researchers wanted to see if parents found the approach practical and acceptable for daily use with their babies who have older siblings with autism.
