First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether showing parents a short video along with the usual verbal explanation helps them accept a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) for their child suspected of having meningitis. About 154 parents of children aged 0–12 years in the emergency room will take part. The goal is to see if the video leads to higher acceptance rates compared to verbal counseling alone.
