Heart surgeons test which ablation method best stops irregular heartbeats

NCT ID NCT07100483

Summary

This study aims to find out which of three different surgical ablation techniques works best for controlling atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) in patients who are already having heart surgery. Researchers will randomly assign 220 patients to receive one of three established ablation methods during their operation and then track their heart rhythm for up to five years. The goal is to determine if one approach provides better long-term freedom from atrial fibrillation than the others.
