Tracking the untracked: what happens to heart patients who skip the trial?
NCT ID NCT06249269
Summary
This study aims to understand patients with symptomatic atrial fibrillation (a common heart rhythm problem) who are eligible for but choose not to join a related treatment trial. Researchers will follow about 198 such patients to see if their health characteristics, quality of life, and outcomes—like hospital visits or stroke risk—are different from those who do join the trial. The goal is to learn if trial results truly reflect what happens to all eligible patients in the real world.
