New heart device tested with lighter sedation to prevent strokes
NCT ID NCT06049615
Summary
This study is testing a procedure to implant a small device in the heart to help prevent strokes in people with atrial fibrillation. It specifically looks at using lighter 'conscious' sedation instead of full general anesthesia during the implant. Researchers want to see if this approach is safe and if the device works properly to close off a part of the heart where clots can form.
