New heart procedure aims to zap away irregular heartbeats

Summary
This study is testing a new medical device system for treating a type of irregular heartbeat called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). The system uses a special catheter to map the heart and deliver targeted energy to areas causing the problem. Researchers will enroll up to 300 adults with symptomatic PAF to see if the procedure safely reduces episodes and improves quality of life over 12 months.
