Frozen heart fix? new mapping tech aims to sharpen irregular heartbeat treatment

NCT ID NCT04109053

Summary

This study aimed to test if a very detailed electrical map of the heart could help doctors better guide a freezing procedure (cryoballoon ablation) to treat intermittent atrial fibrillation (AFib). It planned to enroll patients scheduled for this procedure at a single hospital. The goal was to see if this mapping technique improved the accuracy of the treatment and patient outcomes, but the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
