NCT ID NCT07173478

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This Phase 3 trial tests a medicated foam called OPA-15406 (difamilast) for adults with atopic dermatitis, a common skin condition causing red, itchy rashes. About 156 participants will apply the foam or a placebo twice daily for 4 weeks. The goal is to see if the foam clears or nearly clears the skin better than the placebo.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

OPA-15406 (difamilast) foam

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new topical foam option to control eczema flare-ups and improve skin clarity.

What could go wrong

This is a short 4-week trial with 156 participants, so results may not apply to long-term use or all patients. The foam may not outperform the placebo.
