Pfizer checks if new atirmociclib tablet matches the old one

NCT ID NCT07130097

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This completed Phase 1 study tested whether a new, higher-dose tablet of the cancer drug atirmociclib works the same in the body as the current tablet. Thirty-five healthy adults each received a single dose of both tablet forms after a meal, in random order. The goal was to see if the two formulations are bioequivalent, meaning they are absorbed and processed similarly.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Atirmociclib (PF-07220060)

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could confirm that a higher-dose tablet works the same as the current one, potentially simplifying manufacturing or dosing.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study in healthy people, not patients. It only checks how the drug is absorbed, not whether it treats any disease.
