Scientists map the 'Athlete's Heart' to see how training rewires blood flow
NCT ID NCT07363993
Summary
This study aims to better understand how long-term, intense exercise changes the heart, a condition known as 'athlete's heart.' Researchers will use detailed 3D heart scans to compare how blood flows and the heart muscle moves in 80 elite endurance athletes versus 80 people who are not very active. The goal is to gather new knowledge about how a healthy, highly trained heart works, not to test a treatment.
