Ear stimulation device tested at home for debilitating connective tissue disorder

NCT ID NCT06105541

Summary

This study tested whether a small, at-home device that gently stimulates nerves in the ear could improve common symptoms of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). Twenty-five participants with hEDS used the device at home for two weeks, with some receiving a real treatment and others a sham version, followed by two weeks where everyone got the real treatment. Researchers measured changes in pain, fatigue, sleep, anxiety, depression, and quality of life.
