First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking Astragalus extract daily for 10 weeks could help reduce muscle soreness and inflammation in 24 healthy young adults doing intense resistance training. Results showed the supplement lowered some inflammatory markers but did not improve muscle strength or function. The findings suggest Astragalus may have anti-inflammatory effects but not performance-enhancing benefits.
