Can new asthma drugs actually repair damaged lungs? groundbreaking study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07174713
Summary
This research study aims to understand if biologic drugs, a type of advanced injection therapy for severe asthma, can reverse the physical damage caused by asthma in the lungs of adults. The study will follow 150 adults with severe asthma and 50 healthy volunteers for two years, using advanced lung scans and breathing tests. The main goal is to see if achieving symptom remission with these drugs is linked to actual healing of the airways and blood vessels inside the lungs.
