Stomach shield showdown: two approaches to protect aspirin users
NCT ID NCT00713947
Summary
This study aimed to compare two ways to prevent stomach damage in people who need to take low-dose aspirin long-term for heart conditions. Researchers wanted to see if eliminating a common stomach bacteria (H. pylori) worked better than using a stomach-protecting medication (pantoprazole) to prevent aspirin-related ulcers. The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
