First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase 3 trial tests whether adding aspirin and folic acid to standard treatment can improve recovery from sudden sensorineural hearing loss. The idea is that these drugs may improve blood flow to the inner ear. The study will enroll 142 adults with recent hearing loss and track their hearing recovery over 6 months.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost add-on treatment to improve hearing recovery after sudden hearing loss.
