Doctors investigate if common fungus test can forecast survival

NCT ID NCT07313527

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study aims to understand if changes in a specific blood or lung fluid test (PCR) for a serious fungal infection can predict how well a patient will respond to treatment. Researchers will look back at medical records from 100 adults who had this test at a French hospital between 2017 and 2024. The goal is to see if the test results over time are linked to a patient's chances of survival 30 days after starting treatment.
