New combo strategy aims to deepen remission in CML

Summary
This study tests a new drug, asciminib, as the first treatment for adults newly diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). If the drug alone doesn't work well enough after 2-3 years, a low dose of another standard drug is added. The goal is to see if this approach can achieve very deep remissions safely.
