First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether doing artistic activities, like coloring mandalas, can help reduce anxiety and improve hope and well-being in people about to have abdominal surgery. 64 adults were split into two groups: one colored mandalas, the other did breathing exercises. Researchers measured anxiety, vital signs, and spiritual well-being before and after the activity to see if art helped patients feel calmer and more prepared for surgery.
