Synthetic cornea offers new hope for the untreatably blind

NCT ID NCT05694247

Summary

This study is testing a new artificial cornea for people who are blind due to corneal disease and cannot receive a standard corneal transplant. The device will be surgically implanted in 40 participants, who will then be closely monitored for safety and vision improvement over two years. The goal is to restore vision in cases where other treatments have failed or are not an option.
