New surgical order may boost pancreatic cancer outcomes
NCT ID NCT07547033
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026
Summary
This study compares a newer surgical technique, called the artery-first approach, with the standard Whipple procedure for pancreatic head cancer. The goal is to see if starting the surgery by exposing a major artery allows surgeons to remove the tumor more completely and lower the chance of cancer coming back. About 150 adults with resectable or borderline resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma will take part.
