Researchers track hand complications after kidney Patients' surgery

NCT ID NCT06297343

Summary

This study aims to understand why some kidney failure patients develop poor blood flow (ischemia) in their hand after surgery to create a dialysis access point called an arteriovenous fistula. Researchers will follow 544 adult patients for a year after their surgery, checking for hand pain, coldness, or wounds. The goal is to identify which patient factors or blood vessel changes are linked to this complication to help improve future care.
