First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested whether weekly art sessions led by professional artists could help children aged 6 to 12 from low-income neighborhoods feel better about themselves and improve their mental health. Over nine months, 172 kids either took art classes or stayed on a waiting list. Researchers measured changes in self-concept, emotional well-being, and quality of life using questionnaires completed by children and teachers.
