First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether aromatherapy massage could reduce arm stiffness and improve emotional well-being in elderly stroke survivors living in care homes. Thirty participants aged 65 and older received either a scented oil massage or a plain oil massage twice a week for four weeks. Researchers measured arm movement, pain, blood pressure, and mood changes to see if the aromatherapy offered extra benefits.
