Could a blood pressure cuff before surgery protect your lungs?

NCT ID NCT07208500

Summary

This study is testing if a simple, non-invasive procedure using a blood pressure cuff on the arm can help prevent lung complications after surgery in people aged 65 and older. The procedure is done 24 hours before surgery and aims to gently stimulate the body's natural defenses. Researchers will compare results between a group receiving the real procedure and a control group receiving a sham procedure to see if it reduces problems like pneumonia or breathing difficulties.
