Hepatitis b drug trial halted early – what we know

NCT ID NCT02738008

First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested an experimental drug called ARC-520 in people with chronic hepatitis B who were already taking standard antiviral medications. The goal was to see if adding ARC-520 could safely lower a key virus marker (HBsAg) in the blood. Only 12 people who had shown some initial response to ARC-520 in earlier studies were enrolled. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
