New inhaled treatment tested for Life-Threatening lung failure

NCT ID NCT07317050

Summary

This study is testing whether an inhaled drug called aprotinin can help adults with severe lung failure (ARDS) breathe without a ventilator and survive. It will involve 156 critically ill patients in intensive care units who will receive either the drug or a placebo, in addition to standard care. The main goal is to see if the drug improves the combined outcome of survival and the number of days patients can breathe on their own within 28 days.
