Can a smartphone app and coach help fix Appalachia's health crisis?

NCT ID NCT04309461

Summary

This study is testing a program that uses a smartphone app, a fitness tracker, phone coaching, and small rewards to help adults in rural Kentucky improve their health. The goal is to help people eat more fruits and vegetables, eat less unhealthy fat, get more physical activity, and spend less time sitting in front of screens. Researchers want to see if this convenient, phone-based approach can work well for people living in areas with limited local health resources.
