Can a simple app help cancer patients avoid the ER?
NCT ID NCT07301996
Summary
This study tested whether a mobile app for cancer patients to report their symptoms could help reduce unplanned trips to the doctor or hospital. 166 patients with solid cancers were split into two groups: one used the app to track symptoms for their doctor to see, and the other received standard care. The main goal was to see if using the app led to fewer emergency visits and hospital stays over 12 weeks.
