Blood thinner safety check for our oldest heart patients
NCT ID NCT04586972
Summary
This study observed nearly 1,000 patients aged 80 and older who were newly taking the blood thinner apixaban for atrial fibrillation. Researchers followed patients for one year in real-world geriatric care settings across France to track bleeding events and how well patients stuck with their medication. The goal was to understand the safety and effectiveness of this treatment in this very elderly population.
